RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS
BY MARIE BOULTON AGAINST AUGUSTA, GEORGIA AND STATE
COURT OF RICHMOND COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SETTLEMENT DOCUMENTS; WAIVING AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA CODE OF ORDINANCES SECTIONS IN CONFLICT FOR
THIS INSTANCE ONLY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Marie Boulton ("Claimant") has made claims against the State Court of
Richmond County("State Court") arising out of her employment;
WHEREAS, all parties to said claim desire to settle all claims; and
WHEREAS, Claimant has agreed to settle all claims against State Court and Augusta,
Georgia by accepting a position as the Deputy Warden in the Richmond County Correctional
Institution at a paygrade of 57 at a salary of$79,500;
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of Augusta, Georgia to resolve this matter by
immediately employing Claimant in said position; and
WHEREAS, Augusta, Georgia acknowledges that the settlement set forth herein does not
constitute any admission of liability on the part of State Court or Augusta, Georgia and liability is
expressly denied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta, Georgia Commission,
Section 1: The Augusta, Georgia Commission will settle the claims of Marie Boulton
by employing her as the Deputy Warden of the Richmond County
Correctional Institution.
Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute the Settlement Agreement as approved
by General Counsel.
Section 3: To the extent that any section of the AUGUSTA, GA. CODE is in conflict
herewith,that subsection is waived for this instance only.

Resolution was duly adopted by the Augusta, Georgia Commission on
2017 and that such Resolution has not been modified or rescinded as of the date hereof and the
