RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS
BY CHARLES L. MASTERS RELATING TO HIS EMPLOYMENT WITH
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
SETTLEMENT DOCUMENTS; WAIVING AUGUSTA, GEORGIA CODE
OF ORDINANCES SECTIONS IN CONFLICT FOR THIS INSTANCE
ONLY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Charles L. Masters ("Claimant") has made claims against Augusta, Georgia
arising out of his employment with Augusta, Georgia and his termination therefrom;
WHEREAS, all parties to said claim desire to settle all claims; and
WHEREAS,Claimant has agreed to settle all claims against Augusta,Georgia by accepting
a thirty(30) day suspension in lieu of termination;
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of Augusta, Georgia to resolve this matter by
reinstating Claimant's employment effective April 11, 2017 and placing Claimant on suspension
from April 12, 2017 through May 11, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Augusta, Georgia acknowledges that the settlement set forth herein does not
constitute any admission of liability on the part of Augusta, Georgia and liability is expressly
denied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta, Georgia Commission,
Section 1: The Augusta, Georgia Commission will settle the claims of Charles L.
Masters by instituting a thirty (30) day suspension in lieu of termination.
Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute the Settlement Agreement as approved
by General Counsel.
Section 3: To the extent that any section of the AUGUSTA, GA. CODE is in conflict
herewith, that subsection is waived for this instance only.

Resolution was duly adopted by the Augusta, Georgia Commission on ,
2017 and that such Resolution has not been modified or rescinded as of the date hereof and the
