RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS
BY MARION WILLIAMS RELATING TO BEING A LIASION TO THE
PLANNING COMMISSION DURING THE YEAR 2016; AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SETTLEMENT DOCUMENTS AND THE
FINANCE DEPARTMENT TO DISBURSE THE SETTLEMENT
AMOUNT; WAIVING AUGUSTA, GEORGIA CODE OF ORDINANCES
SECTIONS IN CONFLICT FOR THIS INSTANCE ONLY; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Marion Williams ("Claimant") has made a claim against Augusta, Georgia
arising out of his role as a liaison to the Augusta, Georgia Planning Commission during the year
2016;
WHEREAS, all parties to said claim desire to settle all claims; and
WHEREAS, Claimant has agreed to settle all claims against Augusta, Georgia and the
Augusta, Georgia Planning Commission for the sum of four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00);
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of Augusta, Georgia to resolve this matter and pay
the amount of four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00) to Claimant to settle all claims of Claimant
against Augusta, Georgia and the Augusta, Georgia Planning Commission arising out of being a
liaison to the Planning Commission during the year 2016; and
WHEREAS, Augusta, Georgia acknowledges that the payment set forth herein does not
constitute any admission of liability on the part of Augusta, Georgia and liability is expressly
denied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta, Georgia Commission,
Section 1: The Augusta, Georgia Commission will settle the claims of Marion
Williams for the aggregate amount of four hundred fifty dollars ($450.00).
Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute the Settlement Agreement as approved
by General Counsel.
Section 3: The Finance Department of Augusta, Georgia is authorized to pay the total
settlement amount in accordance with the settlement agreement from
Planning Commission funds.
Section 4: To the extent that any section of the AUGUSTA, GA. CODE is in conflict
herewith, that subsection is waived for this instance only.

CERTIFICATION
The undersigned Clerk of Commission, Lena J. Bonner, hereby certifies that the foregoing
Resolution was duly adopted by the Augusta, Georgia Commission on ,
2017 and that such Resolution has not been modified or rescinded as of the date hereof and the
undersigned further certifies that attached hereto is a true copy of the Resolution which was
approved and adopted in the foregoing meeting(s).
