Application Executive Summary
This grant is for the use of 5307 FY14$3,281,192 and FY15$2,523,230. The total amount of FTA funds
applied for in this grant is$5.804.423.Augusta Public Transit Department(APT) is in the process of re-
locating its current Administration and Bus maintenance Facility to a South Augusta location at 2844
Regency Blvd and 2413 Jennings Road. APT has hired the Engineering&Architectural Firm Wendel Co. of
Richmond VA for the designed of the facility.This a design, bid and build project estimated to cost
approximately$14,000,000. This grant will be used in combination with previously approved grants, GA-90-
X300-00, GA-90-X307-00, GA-90-X320-00, GA-90-X330-00 and GA-04-0034-00 and GA-90-X343-00. All of
the previous grants along with this grant will provide for the total funding of the project including the 20%
match.
1. Estimated: Start Date: September 1, 2016; End Date: December 31, 2018.
2. This application does not include funds for Research and/or Development Activities.
3. Indirect Cost will not be applied to this application and its scope of work.
4. The Application Section 5307 Federal Assistance is allocated to the Recipient,the Designated Recipient
has assigned these funds to the Recipient and have attached the Split Letter illustrating which of the funds
are allocated to Augusta and which to Lower Savannah COG.

Project Description
This project contains five (5)projects to aid and assist APT in its operations. The funds will be used to
purchase Surveillance and Security Equipment. Assist in construction of the new Bus
Administration/Maintenance Facility, A/E for the Intermodal Terminal, Operation assistance and Lease
Replacement Capital Bus to Rebuild spare parts, engines, associated capital maintenance items. Useful life
of 200,000 to 250,000 miles per replacements. All purchases will be separate contracts.
Project Benefits
The Project will involve construction of a new Operations and Maintenance Facility for APT which will
accommodate a growing fleet of buses and allow for future expansion and maintenance of those buses.
The proximity of this location is ideal when considering the anticipated growth of APT, and the location
within the established light industrial area (former mall area)will conform with existing zoning and the use of
an underutilized property, coupled with impacts to surrounding uses being minimal.
Additional Information
APT strives to enhance their image in the community and provide efficient and reliable transportation service.
By working to improve the correlation between service levels and current demand, service should increase.
Location Description
APT's new transit facility will be located at 2844 Regency Boulevard,Augusta GA 30904. Once complete, the
facility will
encompass a total of 30,124 square feet, of which 20,783 square feet will be comprised of bus maintenance
operations, 2,325 square feet designated for administrative and office space use, 1,885 square feet for
operations, and 5,130 square feet in shared area use. There will be space to accommodate 40 buses to be
housed on site, and additional space to accommodate 9 transit support vehicles. Employee parking will total
86 spaces, with 4 visitor parking spaces for a total of 90 parking stalls on the site. The lot size located at 2844
Regency Boulevard is 4.9 acres in size.

Engineering/Design work will be needed for plans to relocate the current Transfer Facility to Closer proximity
to the downtown area.
Augusta Public Transit current Transfer facility is in the process of trying to relocate to an area loser to the
central business district in downtown Augusta. The present site area is being redeveloped and Engineering
and Design work will be needed to help with this transition. The activities included in the Engineering and
Design are hiring a firm, performing soil analysis, conducting an environmental assessment, designing the
facilities and locating a site. The design will be for Augusta's Terminal to have a useful life of 30-40 years.

Project Description
Augusta Public Transit Administration/Maintenance Buildings will be relocating to a South Augusta site at
2844 Regency Blvd and 2413 Jennings Road located behind the old Regency Mall. The useful life of the
building is 40 years
Project Benefits
The Project will involve construction of a new Operations and Maintenance Facility for APT which will
accommodate a growing fleet of buses and allow for future expansion and maintenance of those buses.
The proximity of this location is ideal when considering the anticipated growth of APT, and the location
within the established light industrial area(former mall area)will conform with existing zoning and the use
of an under utilized property, coupled with impacts to surrounding uses being minimal.

APT strives to enhance their image in the community and provide efficient and reliable transportation service.
By working to improve the correlation between service levels and current demand, service should increase.
Location Description
APT's new transit facility will be located at 2844 Regency Boulevard,Augusta GA 30904.The facility will
encompass a total of 30,124 square feet, of which 20,783 square feet will be comprised of bus maintenance
operations, 2,325 square feet designated for Administrative and office space use,1,885 square feet for
operations, and 5,130 square feet in shared area use. There will be space
to accommodate 40 buses to be housed on site, and additional space to accommodate 9 transit support
vehicles. Employee parking will total 86 spaces, with 4 visitor parking spaces for a total of 90 parking stalls on
the site.
