SUPPLEMENTAL ORDER
WHEREAS,on April 20,2011,this Court entered an order denominating the Augusta-
Richmond County Judicial Center located at 735 James Brown Boulevard,a/k/a Ninth Street and
a/k/a Campbell Street, Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia as the Official Courthouse of
Richmond County, Georgia, as such facility is required pursuant to O.C.GA 415-6-17(a), said
Order being recorded in the Superior Court Minutes Book 2,Pages 5317-5320;and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has requested that this
Court supplement its April 20, 2011 Order inorder to provide that the facility and building
known as the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building (the "Municipal Building"),
located at 530 Greene Street, Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, be designated as an
alternative facility for which the courts of Richmond County, Georgia may hold court and
conduct other business as contemplated by O.C.G.A.§15-6-18(a);and
WHEREAS,the Court finds that,from time to time,it will be impracticable to hold a
session or sitting of the Superior Court at the Augusta-Richmond County Judicial Center(the
"Courthouse"), 735 James Brown Boulevard, a/k/a Ninth Street and a/k/a Campbell Street,
Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, such that alternative locations for the business of the
courts of Richmond County,Georgia are required;and
WHEREAS,EAS,the Court finds that the Municipal Building is located in the county site
of Richmond County, Georgia; is suited for such purpose; and is a place that the proper
authorities of Richmond County,Georgia,to-wit,the Augusta-Richmond County Commission,
have provided for the purpose of conducting the business of the courts of Richmond County,
Georgia,to include the holding of any session of any such courts,
WHEREAS,BE IT THEREFORE ORDERED AS FOLLOWS:
Effective immediately,the Municipal Building is hereby designated as a,Judicial annex
to the Courthouse for the purpose of holding court and conducting court business of the courts
of Richmond County, Georgia from time to time, and as may then be properly noticed. The
Municipal Building is designated as an"alternative location"for the business and sessions of
the courts of Richmond County,Georgia as explicitly provided in O_C.GA 015-6-18(a).
FURTHER,pursuant to the request of the Augusta-Richmond County Commission,
IT IS ORDERED that, effective immediately, the building at 530 Greene Street in
Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, commonly known as the "Municipal Building" is also
hereby designated as a"courthouse"location for the meetings and operations of the Augusta-
Richmond County Commission, its officers and employees in accordance with local and state
laws.
IT IS EFFECTIVELY UNDERSTOOD that this Supplemental Order in no way
amends or effects the status of the Courthouse as set out in the Order of April 20, 2011 as the
official courthouse of Richmond County,Georgia.
