AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE AUGUSTA, GA CODE TITLE ONE, ARTICLE
FOUR, SECTION 1 -7 -51 RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF PERSONNEL
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OF AUGUSTA, GEORGIA; TO AMEND SECTION
100.014 OF THE PERSONNEL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL
REGARDING ANNUAL LEAVE BUY -BACK POLICY; TO REPEAL ALL CODE
SECTIONS AND ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF CODE SECTIONS AND
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE DATE
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Augusta, Georgia Board of Commissioners voted on September 16, 2014 to
proceed with and fund a 3 -day annual leave buy -back program for fiscal year 2014;
WHEREAS, Section 100.014 of the Augusta, Georgia Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual
( "PPPM ") currently prohibits employees of the Sheriff's Department and employees of
Constitutional Officers and/or Elected Officials that have officially elected not to have their
employees subject to the PPPM from participating in any annual leave buy -back program;
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Augusta, Georgia Board of Commissioners that the annual
leave buy -back program be available to all employees who qualify for the program regardless of
whether their employer has opted into the PPPM or not; and
WHEREAS, Augusta, Georgia desires to update and amend Section 100.014 of the Personnel
Policy and Procedures Manual which is part of AUGUSTA, GA. CODE Section 1 -7 -51 to allow all
employees who qualify for the 2014 annual leave buy -back program to participate.
THE AUGUSTA, GEORGIA COMMISSION, ordains as follows:
SECTION 1. AUGUSTA, GA. CODE Section 1 -7 -51 as set forth in the Augusta, Ga. Code, re-
adopted March 1, 2011 (Ord. 7323), is hereby amended by striking Section 100.014 of the
incorporated Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual in its entirety as set forth in "Exhibit A"
hereto and inserting in lieu thereof new Section 100.014 as set forth in "Exhibit B" hereto.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon its adoption in accordance with
applicable laws.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
