2604 GLENN HILLS DRIVE, AUGUSTA, GEORGIA
WHEREAS, the Augusta, Georgia Commission (hereinafter, "Augusta ") has determined
it is in the best interest of Augusta to acquire sufficient land to create a new entrance and parking
area to replace that which will be eliminated by the Georgia State Highway Department with its
construction of the 520 Project; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the property located at and commonly known as 2604 Glenn
Hills Drive, Augusta, Georgia has indicated a willingness to sell said tract of land containing
approximately 14,517 square feet to Augusta, which tract of land is sufficiently large enough to
increase the width of the right of way and provide needed parking for the Augusta Fire
Department Administration Building; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the tract of land is $63,000.00; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate for a resolution be adopted authorizing the
purchase of said tract of land shown as MPN 096 -2- 179 -00 -0 on the attached plat and to further
authorize the execution of the necessary closing documents by the Mayor and the Clerk of
Commission.
NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved as follows:
1. Augusta shall purchase of the tract of land shown as MPN 096 -2- 179 -00 -0 on the
attached plat for a purchase price of $63,000.00 with the funds for such purchase to
come from funding provided Augusta Georgia for its fire department by the State of
Georgia for such purposes.
2. It is further resolved that the Mayor and Clerk of Commission of Augusta, Georgia
are hereby authorized to execute such documentation as may reasonably be required,
in form approved by counsel for Augusta, to acquire such tract of land.
3. This Resolution shall be recorded in the Minutes of the Augusta - Richmond County
Commission, accompanied by the exhibits referred to herein.
Duly adopted by the Augusta - Richmond County Commission, this day of
September, 2012.
