HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOMMUNITIES FOR VETERANS RESOLUTIONS OF SUPPORT FOR FREEDOM'S PATH PROJECTS 1 AND 11 LOCATED ON THE CHARLIE NORWOOD VA MEDICAL CENTER CAMPUSFOR THE RENOVATION OF TWO BUILDINGS TO DEVELOP 50 ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT UNITS AND 20 STUDIO UNITS OF RENTAL HOUSING LOCATED AT 1798 MARYLAND AVENUE AND 1900 MARYLAND AVENUE ON THE CAMPUS OF THE CHARLIE NORWOOD VA MEDICAL CENTER CAMPUS IN AUGUSTA, RICHMOND COUNTY, GEORGIA WHEREAS, Freedom's Path Housing, L.P.(Communities for Veterans) is applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) for an allocation of Low Income Housing Tax Credits that will assist in the financing of the 70 units of rental housing to be constructed at 1798 and 1900 Maryland Avenue, Augusta, Georgia; and WHEREAS, Georgia DCA has established a competitive process for awarding funding to projects, one such criterion being a Resolution of Support for the proposed project form the local elected officials; and WHEREAS, Augusta Richmond County is knowledgeable of and is in agreement with the proposed development; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Augusta, Georgia, does hereby: Support the submission of an application by Freedom's Path Housing, L.P. (Communities for Veterans) to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the purpose of accessing funding to assist in the financing of 70 units of rental housing in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia.
