As a follow-up to your recent memo, this is to inform you that an environmental review checklist has
been completed for the Rehabilitation Program for the properties listed above. The project involves the
rehabilitation of single family homes for low-income families. The checklist revealed that none of the
related Federal Laws and authorities listed at 24 CFR Part 58.5 applies to the property.
The Housing and Urban Development Department's (HUD) environmental regulations do require that
Augusta-Richmond County document in its Environmental Review Record (ERR) to carry out any
requirements listed at 24 CFR Part 58.6 related to the Flood Disaster Protection Act, the Coastal Barriers
Improvement Act, and the purchase or sale of existing property in a Runway Clear Zone. I have reviewed
the locations of the Subject property and found it is not located in a special flood hazard area, coastal
barrier resources area, or runway clear zone.
The environmental review for the above referenced property is now complete.

1. Floodplain Management:
Check the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) to determine if the site is in the Floodplain (500 yr
for critical action and 100 yr for all other activities)

Observe the site for any evidence that a toxic material could be present on the site such as:
distressed vegetation, vent or fill pipes, storage tanks, pits, ponds or lagoons, stained sail or
pavement, pungent, foul, or noxious odors, past uses of the site.
