The Privafization ol' Water/Wustewnter Utilities contract belween Forl Gonion and Augusta Riehmond C.ounty was
awarded Septeniher 2Q07. The reyuirements oFihe conlract include esecuting the lnitinl Capital Upgrades (ICU) of thc
water and wastewatcr systcros Lhroughouf thc installation of' Fort Gordon. One of the lnit.ial Capital Upgrade projects is
to provide (two) I.0 fvlillion Gallon Eleva[ctt Stor�gc Tanks and Demo Ihe existing 2.25 MG standpipe.
The proposed site Por Tank # I on Sth Avenue was confirmed to he within u wastc arca (S WMU-46) and has bcen
dc�cumented to have ground contaminanls. PresenUy, Ure site is under evaluation by GA EPD. Consequcntly, a suitahle
alternnte location for this lank sitc has heen detertnine�l by �ort Gordon for construction. ln addilion the analysis
concludes that thc tanks will need an aciditional .250 MG m meet Fort Gordon needs which will make twlh Tanks 1.25
MG cach. This modification will ullow JLA to survey thc ncw location and finalize the design for cnnstruction.
