An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta,
Georgia Commission effective September 16, 1997 (Ordinance No. 5960) together with all
amendments which have been approved by either the Augusta Commission as authorized
under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Constitution of
the State of Georgia" by changing the zoning from Zone R-1 C(One-family Residential)
to Zone B-1 (Neighborhood Business) affecting property located on the southwest
right-of-way line of Summer Street, 100 feet, more or less, northwest of a point.
where the centerline of Spruce Street Extended intersects; and for the repeal of
ordinances in conflict herewith and for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA, GEORGIA COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION L That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of
Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by
changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R-1C (One-family Residential) to Zone B-1
(Neighborhood Business) affecting property as follows:

Beginning at a point located on the southwest right-of-way line of Summer Street,
100 feet, more or less, northwest of a point where the centerline of Spruce Street
Extended intersects; thence, in a southwesterly direction a distance of 328.61 feet to
a point located on the north right-of-way line of Twiggs Street; thence, in a westerly
direction along the north right-of-way line of Twiggs Street a distance of 311.40 feet
to a point; thence, in a northeasterly direction a distance of 539.56 feet to a point
located on the southwest right-of-way line of Summer Street; thence, in a
southeasterly direction along the southeast right-of-way line of Summer Street a
distance of 206.65 feet to the point of beginning. This property contains
approximately 2.72 acres and is known as 1237 Summer Street. (Tax Map 059-2-
616-00-0)
Section II. This amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Maps for Augusta Georgia is subject to
the following stipulation:
That the only use of this property be a child care center or uses provided for by the existing special
exception or the base R-1 C zoning.
SECTION III. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
