COMPANY REGARDING A ROADWAY BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Augusta submitted an application for a GATEway grant from the
Georgia Department of Transportation to beautify the rights of way within the intersection
of US 1 and US 78/278; and
WHEREAS, said grant has been approved, subject to an agreement between the City and
the owner of a billboard whose view zone will not be affected; and
WHEREAS, the location of said billboard is illustrated in exhibit A and the owner is Lamar
Advertising Company; and
WHEREAS, the concept plan for the landscaping project would not impact the visibility of
the billboard; �
NOW THEREFORE IT IS AGREED UPON that the City of Augusta will complete the
landscaping substantially in accordance with the concept plan presented with the application,
and Lamar Advertising Company is in full agreement with the proposed activity.
