The Privatization of Water/Wastewater Utilities contract between Fort Gordon and Augusta Richmond County was
awarded September 2007. The reyuirements of the contract include executing the Initial Capital Upgrades ([CU) of the
water and wastewater systems throughout the installation of �ort Gordon. One of the tnitial Capital Upgrade projects is
to providc (two) 1.0 Million Gallon Elevated Storage Tanks and Demo the existing 2.25 MG standpipe.
As part of the contract with JLA, they performed gcotechnical soil borings for the approved sites and confirmed that &`
Ave site was within a waste area. The geo-tech report confirmed ground contaminants, and is presenHy under
evaluation by GA EPD. Consequently, a suitable alternate location for this tank has been determined to allow work to
proceed. AUD has requested JLA to perform additional geo-tech and engineering work to complete the desig� in a
timely mannec
