An Ordinance to amend the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Augusta -
Richmond County Commission effective September 16, 1997 (Ordinance No. 5960)
together with all amendments which have been approved by either the Augusta - Richmond
County Commission as authorized under the Home Rule Provisions of the Comprehensive
Zoning Map from Constitution of the State of Georgia" by changing the zoning from Zone
R -1 (One - family Residential) to Zone A (Agriculture) affecting property located on
the southeast right -of -way line of Byrd Road (dead end), 1,060 feet, more or less,
southeast of the Georgia Railroad line; and for the repeal of ordinances in conflict
herewith and for other purposes:
THE AUGUSTA - RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioners of
Richmond County on the 15th day of November, 1983, the caption of which is set out above, is amended by
changing the Comprehensive Zoning Map from Zone R -1 (One - family Residential) to Zone A
(Agriculture) affecting property as follows:

Beginning at a point located on the southeast right -of -way line of Byrd Road (dead
end), 1,060 feet, more or less, southeast of the Georgia Railroad line; thence, in a
northeasterly direction a distance of 122.0 feet to a point; thence, in an easterly
direction a distance of 455 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a southerly
direction a distance of 1,983 feet, more or less to a point located on the centerline of
a tributary of Spirit Creek; thence, in a westerly direction along the centerline of a
tributary of Spirit Creek a distance of 1,320 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, in a
northerly direction a distance of 1,540 feet, more or less, to a point; thence, N
82 °12;04: E a distance of 248.54 feet to a point; thence, in a northeasterly direction a
distance of 400 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. This property contains
approximately 38 acres and is known as 3816 Byrd Road. (Tax map 168-0- 067 -05-
0)
SECTION II. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
