ANIMAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
THIS CONTRACT is made by and between the consolidated government of Augusta- Richmond
County, Georgia, hereinafter called AUGUSTA, GEORGIA, and Dr. Amber Polvere, hereinafter
called the CONSULTANT. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA engages the CONSULTANT to perform .
professional ser for the Animal Services Depart ment. This contract is not assignable.
SECTION I - SERVICES OF THE CONSULTANT
The CONSULTANT shall perform the following professional services to AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA standards and in accordance with the degree of care and skill that a registered
professional in Georgia would exercise under similar conditions:
The CONSULTANT shall provide veterinary services to the Augusta Animal Services
Department as directed by the Director of Animal Services.
SECTION II - PERIOD OF SERVICE
The CONSULTANT shall be called upon as needed by the Animal Services Department and
shall work on an hourly basis as needed for a period not exceeding one year from the execution
date of this agreement. This agreement may be renewed annually upon approval of Augusta,
Georgia.
SECTION III - CONSULTANT'S COMPENSATION
A. The method of payment for this CONTRACT is fifty dollars and zero cents ($50.00) per hour.
Total compensation for the services performed shall not exceed four hundred dollars and zero
cents ($400.00) per week, or one thousand, six hundred dollars and zero cents ($1,600.00) per
month. CONSULTANT shall work only the number of hours requested by AUGUSTA,
GEORGIA, which hours shall be no less than twenty one (21) hours and no more than thirty two
(32) hours per month.
B. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall pay the CONSULTANT installments based upon monthly
detailed invoices submitted by the CONSULTANT.

SECTION IV - AUGUSTA, GEORGIA'S RESPONSIBILITIES
A. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall designate a Project Manager during the term of this
CONTRACT. The Project Manager has the authority to administer this CONTRACT and shall
monitor compliance with all terms and conditions stated herein. All requests for information
from or a decision by AUGUSTA, GEORGIA on any aspect of the work shall be directed to the
Project Manager.
B. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall review submittals by the CONSULTANT and provide
responses to questions and rendering of decisions pertaining thereto, to minimize delay in the
progress of the CONSULTANT'S work. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA will keep the CONSULTANT
advised concerning the progress of AUGUSTA, GEORGIA'S review of the work. The
CONSULTANT agrees that AUGUSTA, GEORGIA'S inspection, review, acceptance or
approval of CONSULTANT'S work shall not relieve CONSULTANT'S responsibility for errors
or omissions of the CONSULTANT.
SECTION V — TERMINATION
Either AUGUSTA, GEORGIA or CONSULTANT may terminate this CONTRACT for
convenience or abandon any portion of the contract with thirty (30) days written notice to the
other party. AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall have the right to inspect the CONSULTANT'S work
to appraise the services completed.
Upon termination, the CONSULTANT shall deliver to AUGUSTA, GEORGIA all reports,
estimates and any and all other documents or work product generated by the CONSULTANT
under the CONTRACT, entirely or partially completed, together with all unused materials
supplied by AUGUSTA, GEORGIA.
In the event of such termination or abandonment, the CONSULTANT shall be paid for services
performed prior to termination.
In the event this CONTRACT is terminated, AUGUSTA, GEORGIA shall have the option of
completing the work, or entering into a CONTRACT with another party for the completion of
the work according to the provisions and agreements herein.

The Augusta - Richmond County Commission, at their regular meeting held on Thursday, November 4, 2010, took
action on the following items.
6. Approved an Ordinance to amend the Augusta Richmond County Charter and Laws of Local Application,
Section 1 -30; to modify the term of Mayor Pro Tempore; to have the term of May Pro Tempore coincide
with the terms of Commission Committee Chairs and Commission Committee members; to repeal all
Charter, Code Sections and Ordinances and parts of Charter, Code Sections and Ordinances in conflict
herewith; to provide an effective date and for other purposes. (Approved by Commission October 19,

purpose is served by it or is otherwise in the best interest of the public, and a public hearing shall be held
regarding the issue of abandonment pursuant to O.C.G.A. §32 -7 -2. (Approved by Engineering Services
Committee October 25, 2010)
26. Approved an Ordinance to amend Augusta - Richmond County Code Section 6 -2 -105 relating to the
allocation of beer excise tax revenues; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting ordinances; and
for other purposes and waive the second reading.
