AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE AUGUSTA, GA CODE TITLE TWO SECTION 2 -2-
32 RELATING TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE ORDINANCE; TO REPEAL ALL
CODE SECTIONS AND ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF CODE SECTIONS AND
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Section 2 -2 -32 of the Augusta, Georgia Code, as amended, requires an
effective date within the 2010 calendar year in order to account for 2010 collections;
THE AUGUSTA- RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1. AUGUSTA, GA. CODE Section 2 -2 -32 as set forth in the AUGUSTA, GA. CODE, as
amended by ordinance No. 7209 on November 4, 2010, is hereby amended by making the
effective date immediate.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon approval.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

• (c) For collections subsequent to January 1, 2010, fifty (50) percent of the Hotel -
Motel Excise Tax imposed by this section is hereby appropriated to the Augusta
Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc.
(d) Amounts paid to the Augusta Convention and Visitors bureau, Inc. pursuant to
subsection (c) hereof shall be used solely as provided in the contract between the
Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. and Augusta, Georgia.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on the first day of the second month
following its adoption.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby appealed.
