RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE RICHMOND COUNTY
LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION TO SUPPORT
LEGISLATION TO REQUIRE PARCEL IDENTIFICATION
NUMBERS (PIN#) TO BE INCLUDED IN ALL REAL
ESTATE DEEDS
WHEREAS, Real Estate deeds are not required to include Parcel
Identification Numbers (PIN #); and
WHEREAS, many man hours are spent researching which property is to
be transferred; and
WHEREAS, erroneous information on transfers of ownership of property
has occurred and many man hours are spent researching correct ownership; and
WHEREAS, PIN numbers will prevent erroneous information on transfer
of ownership of property; and
WHEREAS, PIN numbers will allow the staff to be better utilized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE AUGUSTA-
RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION expresses its support for general
legislation to require Parcel Identification Numbers (PIN #) to be included on all
real estate deeds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Richmond County Legislative
Delegation is encouraged to support legislation to require Parcel Identification
Numbers (PIN #) to be included on all real estate deeds.
Duly adopted this L5~day of January, 2002 by a vote of ~ yeas
and ~ nays with L abstaining or absent.
