RESOLUTION
WHEREAS: Mr. James Riles, initiated a request for a Road Name Change of Tutt
Avenue to Swanee Quintet Boulevard in a petition prepared the Augusta-Richmond County
Planning Commission staff.
WHEREAS: The existing road name of Tutt Avenue appears to have no significance in
Augusta, Georgia.
WHEREAS: It is proposed that the entire length of the road be renamed from Tutt
Avenue to Swanee Quintet Boulevard and therefore the road name passes the criteria of
continuity.
WHEREAS: The road name change is acceptable to the minimum requirement of 66%
of the property owners (72% approved of the name change) along the subject road.
THEREFORE: Let it be known that Augusta, Georgia does hereby adopt the road
name change of Tutt Avenue to Swanee Quintet Boulevard. Traffic Engineering should be
notified of the road name change and road signs should be erected accordingly.
