RESOLUTION REQUESTING RICHMOND COUNTY LEGISLATIVE
DELEGATION TO AMEND THE CONSOLIDATION ACT TO REMOVE THE
LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION'S APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND
COMMISSIONS APPOINTED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY
COMMISSION
HHEREAS, Section 13 (f) of the Consolidation Act provides for two new
members for each Board, Commission, Committee, Panel, Autho~ity, or other entity
appointed by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Animal Control Advisory Board, General Aviation
Commission (Daniel Field), Augusta Aviation Commission (Bush Field), Augusta-
Richmond County Board of Zoning Appeals, Historic Preservation Commission, Human
Relations Commission, Board of Trustees of the Augusta-Richmond County Public
Library, Personnel Board, Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission, Riverfront
Review Board, and the Tree Commission are affected by this provision; and
WHEREAS, said boards and commissions have been reconsti tut~d as
required by the Consolidation Act; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission that the Richmond County LegiSlative Delegation is requested to amend
the Consolidation Act to remove itself from appointments to said local boards and
commissions.
Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission this ~ day
of January, 1998.
