RESOLUTION EXERCISING OPTION TO EXTEND TERM OF
PUBLIC PURPOSE LEASE WITH RICHMOND COUNTY PUBLIC
FACILITIES, INC.
WHEREAS, a Public Purpose Lease was entered into as of October
I, 1993, between Richmond County Public Facilities, Inc., as Lessor and
Richmond County, Georgia, as Lessee, which Lease Agreement encompasses
property owned by Richmond County Public Facilities, Inc. and being
generally described as the Joint Law Enforcement Center, certain
computer equipment, as well as the Prior Project encompassing the DFACS
building, the old Public Works building, and certain computer equipment;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.1 of said Lease Agreement,
Richmond County has the right to extend the term of the Lease for
additional one (1) year terms through and including December 31, 2012,
and an additional renewal term commencing on January I, 2013 and ending
on October 2, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Richmond County has budgeted funds for this Lease in
its Temporary Budget and desires to confirm the exercise of its option
to extend the term of the Lease for a one (1) year renewal term upon the
same terms and conditions as the original Lease;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission that Richmond County hereby exercises its option to extend
the term of said Public Purpose Lease for the period from January I,
1997 through December 31, 1997.
Duly adopted this 7th day of January, 1997.
