RESOLUTION
APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE
EASEMENT (EXCHANGE OF EASEMENTS) BETWEEN THE GEORGIA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
AND AUGUSTA, GEORGIA
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has been petitioned to approve
and accept the Construction and Maintenance Easement between Augusta, Georgia and the
Georgia Department of Transportation, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, whereby
the Georgia Department of Transportation and Augusta are exchanging road easements for the
entrance into the Phinizy Swamp off of Doug Barnard Parkway, as shown on the attached plat;
and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has elected to approve and
accept the Construction and Maintenance Easement;
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for approval and acceptance of the Construction and
Maintenance Easement by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission be shown by execution of
said Deed.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved as follows:
1. The Augusta-Richmond County Commission does hereby approve the Construction
and Maintenance Easement and agrees to the exchange of easements, as shown on the attached
plat.
2. It is further determined that the Mayor of Augusta, Georgia shall execute the
Construction and Maintenance Easement, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
This Res?lution shall be recorded in the Minutes of the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission, accompanied by the exhibits referred to herein.
Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond county Commission, this 5th day of September
2006.
