A Resolution
WHEREAS, April 12, 2000 marks the 32nd Anniversary of the passage of Title VIII of the Civil Rights
Act of 1968, commonly known as the Fair Housing Act; and
WHEREAS, the Act initiated a national policy of fair housing without regard to race, color, religion,
sex, national origin, handicap, or familial status; and
WHEREAS, Fair Housing is the policy of Richmond County, and county departments and agencies are
committed to making fair housing a reality for all our citizens; and
WHEREAS, Richmond County participates in Fair Housing activities through its CDBG, HOME, and
ESG Programs, through Homebuyer Assistance Programs, and through Housing Rehabilitation Programs; and
WHEREAS, We commend the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for
providing leadership in the effort to make fair housing available to everyone; now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Richmond County Board of Commissioners, do hereby
adopt the month of April 2000 as "FAIR HOUSING MONTH" in Richmond County, Georgia.
Adopted by the City Council This 41h Day of April 2000.
