RESOLUTION
A Resolution in support for the New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam.
WHEREAS, Augusta, Georgia, supports the efforts of local industry and the local
government sponsor of the New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam, the City of North
Augusta, South Carolina; to
WHEREAS, Augusta, Georgia wishes to memorialize, once again its support for
said facility;
Now therefore let it be known that Augusta, Georgia continues to support the
New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam as an instrument of commerce in the Central
Savannah River area, which contributes to the local economy through recreation, flood
control and interstate commerce.
Be it further resolved, the Augusta Commission by this Resolution, requests the
United States Congress to appropriate funds for repairs to this facility to make it
functional as it was designed and that the repair be placed in a line item category in the
next Federal Budget for the next fiscal year.
So adopted this 16 th day of August, 2005.
