SECTION 1.
The amount of $2,000 is granted to the Academy of Richmond
County High School 2008 Class AAAA State Title Bartram Trail
Golf Club Champions.
A RESOLUTION
BY THE HONORABLE DONALD GRANTHAM
COMMISSIONER; AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY, GEORGIA
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE ATHLETIC, ACADEMIC
AND GOOD CITIZENSHIP CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE
ACADEMY OF RICHMOND COUNTY GOLF CLUB; AND
SPECIFICALLY RECOGNIZING THE 2008 ACADEMY OF
RICHMOND COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
GOLF TEAM AND AUTHORIZING AUGUSTA-RICHMOND
COUNTY, GEORGIA TO CONTRIBUTE THE AMOUNT OF
$2,000 TO DEFRAY THE COSTS OF THEIR ST ATE GOLF
CHAMPIONSHIP PURSUITS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Boys' Golf Club of the Academy of Richmond County High School
("Musketeers") won the 2008 Class AAAA State Title Bartram Trail Golf Club
Championship; and
WHEREAS, as these students have exemplified academic scholarship, athletic prowess
and good citizenship; and
WHEREAS, based on the foregoing, the Honorable Donald Grantham recommends that
the Augusta-Richmond County Commission contribute the amount of $2,000 to defray
the cost of the state golf championship pursuits of the Boys Golf Club of the Academy of
Richmond County High School.
THE COMMISSION OF AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY, GEORGIA
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 2.
The funds are to be used to purchase championship rings, and other
items related to the pursuit ofthe state golf championship.
