RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MILLAGE
RATES FOR RICHMOND COUNTY FOR
2000
WHEREAS, Georgia law provides for the establishment of a millage rate by
the Augusta-Richmonq County Commission for Richmond County, Georgia; and,
WHEREAS, Ga. ~aws 1980, p. 2177, Section 1, and Ga. Laws 1983, p.
3870, Sections 1 and 2, provide for a tax cap; and,
-WHEREAS" the Charter for Augusta, Georgia, the consolidated .
government"for Richmond County, Georgia (Ga. Laws 1995, p. 3648, as
amended), provides for an assessment of taxes within the Urban Services
District and the Suburban Services District, based upon the level of services;
and,
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has considered the
recommended millage rates;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Augusta-Richmond County
. Commission, at its regular meeting held on Tuesday, Septe.mber 19, 2000,
continued to September 25, 2000, the following millage rates are hereby
established for 2000, to-wit:
(1) 6.773 for the Suburban Services District;
(2) .17.112 for the Urban Services District;
(3) 7.392 for the Fire District;
(4) 9.470 for the City of Blythe District; and,
(5) 17.112 for the Central Business District.
Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission this 25th day
of September, 2000. - t
