RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO CALL A MEETING OF THE GOVERNING AUTHORITY (AUGUSTA-RICHMON!? COUNTY) AND THE QUALIFIED MUNICIPALITIES (HEPHZffiAH AND BL YTRE) WHEREAS the Augusta Commission has held a series of work sessions to develop a capital project list to be submitted to the voters of Richmond County, Georgia for the re- imposition . in . Richmond County of the 1 rt Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax after December 31,2005- which is known as "SPLOST V"; WHEREAS Augusta-Richmond County is a consolidated local government, and is deemed to be a County for all purposes of the calling of SPLOST refer~dum. NOW THEREFORE the Augusta Commission hereby directs the Mayor to deliver written notices of a meeting of the Governing Authority and the Qualified Municipalities purSuant to O.C.G.A. ~ 48-8-111. . ~ ADOPTED this~ / day of July, 2004. Pass resolution at the Commission Meeting to authorize Mayor Young to convene a meeting of the governing authorities of Augusta, Hephzibah, and Blythe, to discuss proposed SPLOST projects and give timely notice thereof. Mail notices of meeting of governing authorities to the Mayors of Hephzibah and Blythe for meeting to be held at the earliest date of July 31, 2004, and the latest date of August 4, 2004. Notices must be mailed or delivered 10 days prior to the meeting. August 4th is the last date to convene meeting because it must be held 30 days prior to call for election. Last date to maiUdeliver notice of meeting of governing authorities for meeting on August 4th. Regular meeting of Augusta Commission Committees. Regular scheduled meeting of Augusta Commission. Last date for governing authorities to meet. Make submission to the Justice Department and coordinate with Board of Elections. Regular meeting of Augusta Commission Committees.
