RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the September 1999 Term Orand Jury of Richmond County made its
presentments on November l2, 1999; and
WHEREAS, said Grand Jury submitted a report of a subcommittee on County-wide
issues involving the Augusta-Richmond County government and its departments; and
WHEREAS, said Orand Jury questioned some of the practices of the Augusta-Richmond
County government and other elected officials; and
WHEREAS, said Orand Jury suggested a need for a Special Grand Jury to continue the
. investigation of the operation and management of the Augusta-Richmond County government;
and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission believes the issues raised by
said Grand Jury should be fully investigated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND
COUNTY COMMISSION that this Commission supports the call for a Special Grand Jury to
investigate the Augusta-Richmond County government, its elected officials, and departments.
Duly adopted this 16th day of November, 1999.
