' _..~:. " RESOLUTION RESOLUTION EXEMPTING ALL PROPERTIES FOR WHICH AN INITIAL TAX EXECUTION HAS BEEN ISSUED FROM TRANSFER OF EXECUTION. WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council has previously adopted a Resolution stating its desire to identify certain properties as being excluded from eligibility for transfer of execution as same may be allowed under a.C.G.A. ~ 48-3-l9(c); and WHEREAS, transfer of executions during the seven (7) years fro~ the initial date of issue of said tax execution under O.C.G.A. ~ 48-3-21, would result in the loss of interest to Augusta-Richmond County and would not be in the best interest of ,the public; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Augusta~Richmond County Commission-Council to designate all properties for which an initial tax execution has been issued be excluded from transfer of execution during the initial seven (7) year term of said execution, but allow for transfer of execution upon any renewal of such execution; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of O.C.G.A. ~ 48-3- 19(d) the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council held a public hearing on June 24, 1996, on the issue of excluding such properties from eligibility for transfer of execution; and WHEREAS, exclusion of such property is deemed to be in ,- " '.', , ,,;., _" ~ . r--. ; " ..~...... ., the best interest of the public because of the loss of the revenue from interest on such executions, given the collection rate by the Richmond County Tax Commissioner and their being no objection to same at the public hearing held on June 24, 1996j NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council that all properties for which a tax execution has been issued during the initial seven (7) years of such tax execution shall be exempt from transfer of execution pursuant to the provisions of O.C.G.A. ~ 48-3-19. Commission- 9 ayes, By: ;J;;(JrJ~ ~ ~.;, ~\, ~ \'; RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council desires to identify certain properties as being excluded from eligibility for transfer of execution as same may be allowed under O.C.G.A. ~ 48-3-l9(c); and WHEREAS, the Richmond County Tax Commissioner has been extremely successful in collecting delinquent accounts; and WHEREAS, transfer of executions during the seven (7) years from the initial date of issue of said tax execution under O.C.G.A. ~ 48-3-21, would result in the loss of interest to Augusta-Richmond County and would not be in the best interest of the public; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council to designate all properties for which an initial tax execution has been issued be excluded from transfer of execution dur~ng the initial seven (7) year term of said execution, but allow for transfer of execution upon any renewal of such execution; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of O.C~G.A. ~ 48-3- 19(d) the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council desires to schedule a public hearing to be held on the issue of excluding such properties from eligibility for transfer of execution; and " , " ,. . . ~ '\ ,;" ~ -, ;, WHEREAS, exclusion of such property is deemed to be in the best interest of the public because of the loss of the revenue from interest on such executions, given the collection rate by the Richmond County Tax Commissioner; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council that a public hearing be held on the issue of excluding all properties for which a tax execution has been issued during the initial seven (7) years of such tax execution pursuant to the provisions of O.C.G.A. ~ 48-3-19. Such public hearing shall be held on ,J" n e 24 , 1996 at l.nn o'clock L. m. in Room JtQL, in the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building. Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission- Council this -2L- day of May, 1996, by a vote of 10 ayes, o nays and o abstaining.
