I' , ~1 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION PROVIDING SUPPORT OF AN INDENDENT SENIOR APARTMENT BUILDING, AN AFFORDABLE RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY FOR 30901 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORP. - -------- - -- -- WHEREAS;tlie-proposea- dev-efopmenfwill consIst 0(4ffindependenfliVing-sern-oi-- - -.~ apartments; and WHEREAS, the project is to be development on land located bound by Linden, Poplar, Rulette and Hunter Streets, Augusta, Georgia, 30901; and, WHEREAS, the optimal end result is to transform areas currently depleted as low- income into bustling safe neighborhoods; and, WHEREAS, the project area meets the needs that are identified in the Augusta-Richmond County Consolidated Plan; and WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has committed has committed $400,000.00 in the form of a low-interest loan from its 2002 CDBG or HOME allocation; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and the Augusta-Richmond County Commission that this body supports the proposed independent living senior apartments. Approved a resolution of support and request of a $400,000 loan from 2002 CDBG h.1I1ds to be allocated to 30901 Development Corporation for the development of 48 independent living senior apartments. In addition, the Housing & Neighborhood Development Director was directed to appear before the HND Subcommittee to provide an explanation as to why the 2002 CDBG h.mds were not offered to other community groups. (Approved by Administrative Services Committee February 26, 200'1) 14. Approved award of Neighborhood Matching Grant at Mayor's request in the amount of $5,000 to Laney-Walker Neighborhood Association in conjunction with Augusta Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (A-NIC) community clean up. (Approved by Administrative Services Committee February 26, 2001) 14A. Approved the recommendations from the HND Subcommittee with the stipuiation that the Committee perfonllS a review of HND operations in six months.
