RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE RICHMOND COUNTY
LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION TO SUPPORT
LEGISLATION TO INCREASE FILING FEES IN CIVIL
CASES IN THE COURTS OF THIS STATE
WHEREAS, the current filing fees for civil cases has not been changed in
recent years; and
WHEREAS, costs associated with the processing of civil documents has
increased; and
WHEREAS, Augusta believes the filing fees should be increased to cover
the costs associated with processing of civil documents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE AUGUSTA-
RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION expresses its. support for general
legislation to increase filing fees for civil cases in the courts of this state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Richmond County Legislative
Delegation to support legislation to increase filing fees for civil cases in the courts
of this state.
Duly adopted this /fl day of January, 2002 by a vote of ? yeas
and -.t2 nays with ~ abstaining or absent.
