RESOLUTION OF THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING IMPROVEMENTS TO AND FUTURE ACCEPTANCE OF
IMPROVEMENTS TO PENDLETON KING PARK BY THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF
AUGUSTA, GEORGIA
THIS RESOLUTION adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission (the
"Commission").
WHEREAS, the Commission is the long term lessee of a long term lease (the "Lease")
of Pendleton King Park (the "Park");and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the Lease the Commission is responsible for the
maintenance, operation and upkeep of the Park; and
WHEREAS, the Commission recognizes the value and benefit of the Park to the citizens
of Augusta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the Junior League of Augusta, Georgia (the "Junior League") has
approached the Commission seeking authority to add improvements and playground equipment
(the "Playground") to the Park for the purpose of furthering the public's enjoyment and use of
the Park; and
WHEREAS, the Commission recognizes the potential for increased use and enjoyment
of the park through the creation and installation of an additional playground (the "Playground")
at the Park and the Junior League would like to assume such creation and installation of said
Playground; and
WHEREAS, the Commission desires to herein provide procedures for approval of the
construction of the Playground the acceptance and maintenance of the Playground upon
completion of the Playground by the Junior League.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commission, and it IS hereby
resolved by authority of same the following:
1. The Junior League is hereby authorized to create, construct and install the Playground
at the Park. The Junior League shall have all plans for the Playground approved prior to
installation by Derek Vanover, Augusta Public Works & Engineering, Trees & Landscape
Department.
2. The Junior League shall provide to the Commission written notification of completion
(the "Notice of Completion") of ,the Project within 10 days of such completion. Notice of
Completion shall be addressed to the following individuals:

Unless written objection to the Playground is received by the Junior League within 30 days of
the Notice of Completion, the Playground shall be deemed accepted by the Commission.

3. Upon acceptance of the Playground, the Commission shall be responsible for all
aspects of the Playground, including upkeep, maintenance and operation of the Playground.
4. This resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission, Georgia this J!i!!day of
