RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OP HOOSE BILL 531,
ALLOWING SPBCIAL PURPOSE LOCAL OPTION SALES
'tAX MONIES TO BE USED TO PURCHASE FIRE
EQUIPMENT .
WHEREAS, Georgia law defines the purposeB for which
special purpose local option sales tax monies may be spent, and
which present authorization does not include fire equipment; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 531 has been introduced in the 1991
Regular Session of the Georgia General Assembly to extend the
authority of counties to use special purpose local option sales tax
monies to purchase fire equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County commission wishes to
express its support for House Bill 531;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Augusta-Richmond
County Commission that members of the Richmond County Legislative
Delegation be notified of the Augusta-Richmond County Commission's
support for House Bill 531. and that said members be urged to
support the passage of said House Bill 531.
Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission by
/0 ayes, () nays, and 0 abstentions, this 1-& day of
