RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE RICHMOND COUNTY
LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION PROVIDE FOR A FULL TIME
SOLICITOR OF THE STATE COURT OF RICHMOND
COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the State Court of Richmond County, Georgia
currently has a part time Solicitor who is authorized to and does
hire full time Assistant Solicitors: and
WHEREAS, a full time Solicitor is needed because of the
increased criminal case load in State Court; and
WHEREAS, a full time Solicitor would provide for faster
and more expedient disposition of criminal matters in the State
Court of Richmond County, which will benefit the public; and
WHEREAS, the Solicitor's salary should be established as
95% of the State paid salary of the Richmond County District
Attorney;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Augusta-Richmond
County Commission that the Legislative Delegation of Richmond
County is requested to introduce at the 1997 Legislative Session of
the General Assembly local legislation to provide for a full time
Solicitor and establish the salary for such position at 95% of the
State paid salary of the Richmond County District Attorney.
Duly adopted this 21st day of January, 1997.
