RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A FOURTH
JUDGESHIP FOR RICHMOND COUNTY STATE
. COURT. I
WHEREAS, the Richmond County State Court presently has three full-time
Judges and until recently has had. available to it the services of retired Judge Ed Slafon.
WHEREAS, Judge Slaton is no longer available to serve as Judge Emeritls and
there is a need to replace his services and to accommodate the increasing ca~eload
I
demands of the State Court of Richmond County.
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission will make appropriate
funding available to fund said fourth Judgeship in the event it is authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Augusta-Richmond County
Commission requests that the General Assembly of Georgia create a fourth Judgeship for
Richmond County State Court effective July 1, 2006.
