RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION REGARDING THE PROVISION OF
WATER AND SANITARY SEWER SERVICE TO
FORT GORDON, GEORGIA
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission on June 20, 2006
approved a solicitation to provide water and sewer service to Fort Gordon; and
WHEREAS, The Augusta Utilities Department presented a Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA) by and between the Department of Defense, specifically the U.S.
Army Garrison - Fort Gordon, Georgia and Augusta, Georgia by and through the
Augusta Utilities Department. Said Department having recommended to the Augusta-
'Richmond County Commission that the same be approved so that the project for
delivering City water and sanitary sewer service to the Fort shall not be interrupted by
any failure of the United State Congress to enact appropriate legislation to continue the
pilot project by and between Augusta, Georgia through the Augusta Utilities Department
and the Department of Defense U.S. Army Garrison - Fort Gordon, Georgia.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor is authorized to sign the
MOA as presented by the Augusta Utilities Department in the Special Meeting of the
Augusta-Richmond County Commission held September 25, 2006. -A
