RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF
PROPOSAL IN RESPONSE TO SOLICITATION
FOR UTILITY PRIVITAZITATION AT FORT
GORDON, GEORGIA, - WATER DISTRIBUTION
SYSTEM AND .WASTEWATER COLLECTION
SYSTEM - SOLICITATION NO. SP0600-01-R-0119.
WHEREAS, the Department. of Defense is soliciting proposals for utility
privatization at Fort Gordon, Georgia, including the Water Distribution System and the
Wastewater Collection System ("Systems"); and
WHEREAS, Augusta, Georgia believes that the Augusta Utilities Department is
best equipped and situated to own and operate such Systems; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission desires to enhance and
foster its relationship with Fort Gordon, Georgia by providing utility services to said Army base;
and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission desires to express its
cooperation with the Department of Defense by submitting a proposal in response to the
Solicitation request;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission hereby
authorizes the submission of a proposal in response to said Solicitation. The Augusta-Richmond
County Commission further agrees with all terms, conditions, and provisions included in the
Solicitation and agrees to furnish any and all items upon which prices are offered by Augusta,
Georgia in the proposal at the price set forth in such proposal. The Augusta-Richmond County

Commission further submits said proposal with the understanding that the data contained therein
shall not be disclosed outside the United States Government.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Utilities Department
and the Administrator are authorized to negotiate with the United States Government with regard
to said proposal.
BE IT FURHTER RESOLVED that the Mayor lS authorized to Slgn the
proposal on behalf of Augusta, Georgia.
