RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION TO FILL VACANCY IN THE
OFFICE OF THE CORONER OF RICHMOND
COUNTY, GEORGIA
WHEREAS, a vacancy in the office of the Coroner, Richmond
County, Georgia has been created by the death of Leroy Sims on
November 28, 2003; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission is vested
with the authority and duty to fill said vacancy and to call for a
Special Election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND
COUNTY COMMISSION that Grover Tuten is hereby appointed Coroner of
Richmond County, Georgia, upon his taking the oath of office and
giving bond and shall remain in office until his successor is
elected in a Special Election and duly qualified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a Special Election to fill
the unexpired term of Coroner of Richmond County, Georgia expiring
December 31, 2004, shall be on March 2, 2004.
