RESOLUTION
WHEREAS: Mr. David Simoneau, PE, of Southern Partners, Inc., initiated a request for a
Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) to reflect existing conditions along a portion of Augusta Canal
and Rock Creek.
WHEREAS: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued a Letter of
Map Revision (LOMR) to reflect the studied data (hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis and new
topographic data) and the new floodplain limits generated by that studied data for a portion of
Augusta Canal and Rock Creek. The subject area is located from a point just downstream of 1-20
on the Augusta Canal to the confluence of the Augusta Canal and Rock Creek and to a point just
downstream of the CSX Transportation Railroad on Rock Creek.
WHEREAS: Augusta, GA must adopt any revisions to existing Flood Insurance Rate
Maps (FIRMs) as specified in Paragraph 60.3(d) of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
Regulations. .
WHEREAS: Failure to adopt the Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) may result in the loss
of Augusta's participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
THEREFORE: Let it be known that Augusta, GA does hereby adopt Flood Insurance Rate
Map (FIRM) 130158 0020 E Revised to Reflect a Letter of Map Revision Dated April 23, 2003
with an effective date of April 23, 2003.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE AUGUSTA COMMISSION:
