HomeMy WebLinkAboutFEDERAL PAPER BOARD RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING EASEMENT DEEDS FROM FEDERAL PAPER BOARD COMPANY, INC., N/K/A INTERNATIONAL PAPER COMPANY, AND APPROVING PAYMENT WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has been petitioned to approve and accept two Easement Deeds from Federal Paper Board Company, Inc., n/k/a International Paper Company, copies of which are attached hereto as Exhibit A and Exhibit B; and WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has been petitioned to approve payment for the appraised value of the easements and the value of the commercial crop of timber and pecan trees on these tracts; and WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission has elected to approve and accept the Deeds and make payment for the easements and timber; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for approval and acceptance of the Deeds by the Augusta- Richmond County Commission be shown by execution of said Deeds; NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved as follows: 1. The Augusta-Richmond County Commission does hereby approve and accept the Easement Deeds. 2. It is further determined that the Mayor of Augusta, Georgia shall execute the Easement Deeds, copies of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A and Exhibit B. 3. It is further determined that the sum of $29,154.00 will be paid to International Paper Company. This Resolution shall be recorded in the Minutes of the Augusta-Richmond County Commission, accompanied by the exhibits referred to herein. / / Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond county Commission, this -Lf1-- day of IWIfJf 2005. Such trees are impossible to replace and difficult to valuate when destroyed. International Paper supports the project and desires a quick completion. I have reviewed the issue with a local exp and determined the following: 13 pecan trees @ $550 each = $7,150. I have also discussed the time issue with our Division office and they have pledged to get the ROW process completed within t 30 days even with the turmoil of our recent announcement of major divestitures and reorganization.
