A RESOLUTION
Endorsing the Destination 2020 Vision
WHEREAS, Augusta-Richmond County must plan today for its future; and
WHEREAS, hundreds of volunteers and citizens participated in the process of creating the
Destination 2020 vision; and
WHEREAS, through dozens of meetings and town-hall gatherings participants from across our
metro area developed a vision of how Augusta should look and function in the future; and
WHEREAS, the final vision is for a cOII)1llunity that is green, unified, culturally rich, engaged,
planned, prosperous, safe, healthy, easy to get around, has a vibrant city center; and
WHEREAS, now it is time to focus on making the vision a reality; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND COUNTY
COMMISSION that the Augusta-Richmond County Commission expresses its support for the
Destination 2020 Vision; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Augusta-Richmond County shall seek to bring about the
Destination 2020 vision through its actions.
