HomeMy WebLinkAboutCSRA RDC RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COORDINATED TRANSPORTATION FOR YEAR 2008-2009 706 21 0 ;LOG'1:l CSRA ROC 10:19:23 a.m. 02-27-2008 2/2 A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Augusta-Richmond County (hereinafter "County") is a member of the Central Savannah River Area Regional Development Center (hereinafter "CSRA RDC") in accordance with the provisions of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated 950-8-33; and WHEREAS, the Georgia Department of Human Resources (hereinafter "DHR") utilize the CSRA RDC to provide certain human services programs such as its Coordinated Transportation System, which operates across divisional lines to provide quality transportation services for DHR consumers in a safe, efficient and effective manner; and WHEREAS, the CSRA RDC serves as the primary contractor for the DHR Coordinated Transportation System, solicits bids for vendors, and enters into sub-contractual agreements with the area transportation service providers; and WHEREAS, through this arrangement, the CSRA RDC is responsible for administering the transportation of county consumers for Aging, Mental Health Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Disorders, the Department of Family and Children Services T ANF and Intensive Services Programs; and WHEREAS, the CSRA RDC has successfully operated and administered the program for the Central Savannah River Area region for the past seven (7) years; and WHEREAS, O.C.G.A. 50-8-35(a)(II) enables the RDC to manage, administer, or operate human service programs such as the "Coordinated Transportation System" upon the signed resolution of its board and written approval by each unit of local government affected; and WHEREAS, Augusta-Richmond County wishes to continue to have these and other DHR programs administered by the CSRA RDC operated within the region and this county. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Augusta- Richmond County does hereby enable and authorize the CSRA RDC to continue to operate and administer the Coordinated Transportation System for the year 2008-2009 and other DHR funded programs for this county until such time that the Department of Human Resources selects a new administrator for such programs. :' '. ~ i Adopted this /~ ~ ~~J::L .2008.
