WHEREAS, the people of our city recognize the importance of access quality health care services for all persons, especially the poor and disenfranchised; and WHEREAS, we recognize that the problem of lack of adequate health care . coverage affects tens of thousands of our area residents; and WHEREAS, we recognize the need for a family-centered system of health care forthe low-income uninsured that is integrated with existing social services and programs; and WHEREAS, the CSRA Partnership for Community Health, a consortium of over 30 community organizations has demonstrated its ability to collaboratively plan and implement new programs and services to address the problems of low-income, uninsured persons; and ' WHEREAS, the CSRA Partnership for Community Health has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to expand its efforts to rethink and reorganize services and funding for the uninsured; and WHEREAS, the CSRA Partnership for Community Health has launched a major planning initiative to create a new enrollment-based safety net program for low-,income uninsured persons; and WHEREAS, the CSRA Partnership for Community Health proposes to engage a broad based coalition of stakeholders in the issue of the low-income. uninsured to identify and secure sustained funding for the safety-net program; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we the leadership of the city pledge our support for the efforts of the CSRA Partnership for Community Health and we pledge our commitment to doing all in our power to address the issues of the low-income uninsured to assure that all persons in the community have access to quality health care services, Done in open meeting _this -11- day of ~ ' 1 MAYOR,AUG
