RESOLUTION
WHEREAS,
the Augusta-Richmond County Commission is
interested in the progress of Augusta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission strongly
believes that it is In the best interest of the citizens of
Augusta, Georgia for the construction of the Savannah River Parkway
to be completed as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission believes
that the construction and opening of the Savannah River Parkway
will be economically beneficial to the citizens of Augusta,
Georgia; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission believes
that the completion of the Savannah River Parkway will provide
greater safety to all citizens traveling this highway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE AUGUSTA-RICHMOND
COUNTY COMMISSION as follows:
That this Resolution be sent to the Richmond County
Legislative Delegation to encourage the proper individuals and
entities to secure the immediate assignment of funds for the
completion of the Savannah River Parkway from Millen, Georgia to
Augusta, Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
forwarded to the DOT Commissioner Tom Coleman, Congressman Max
Burns and Congressman Charlie Norwood;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of Augusta, Georgia
is authorized and directed to execute as many copies of this
Resolution, each of which shall be an original, as he deems
appropriate to notify concerned individuals, entities, or bodies of
the interest and intent of the Augusta-Richmond County Commission
in this matter
