RICHMOND COUNTY RESOLUTION Whereas, the Department of Transportation currently is considering a commercial driveway permit application from Mr. Lee E, Cheeseborough to construct a commercial driveway entrance on State Route 28 (Sand Bar Ferry Road) near to the intersection of Cedar Street, and; Whereas, the site currently being developed by Mr. Cheeseborough has been properly zoned for commercial development by the Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission, and; Whereas, the proposed improvements to State Route 28 required to support the commercial driveway entrance will include certain areas currently marked to allow on-street parking on the highway, and; Whereas, the Department of Transportation has authority to establish a "No Parking" zone on State Highways, and; Whereas, the Board of Commissioners supports economic development and the safe and efficient operation of the streets and roads in Augusta-Richmond County, Be it therefore resolved that the Board of Commissioners supports the Department of Transportation's proposal to establish a "No Parking Anytime" zone and install "No Parking" signs for a distance of approximately 1200 feet adjacent to the commercial driveway permit application from Mr. Lee E. Cheeseborough from Milepost 2,55 to Milepost 2.78 on both sides of State Route 28 as shown on maps provided, Be it further resolved by the Board of Commissioners to request the Richmond County Sheriff to enforce the "No Parking" zone established by the Department of Transportation.
