RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE SALE OF 819 CAMELIA ROAD
TO WILLIAM T. BASS, LANE P. GARRETT and SAMUELR. PENN.
WHEREAS, the Augusta Commission (hereinafter "City" or "Augusta") has approved
the sale of 819 Camelia Road, Map and Parcel No. 032-1-085-00-0, to adjacent landowners
William T. Bass, owner of 821 Camelia Road and Lane P. Garrett and Samuel R. Penn, owners
of 817 Camelia Road (collectively hereinafter "adjacent landowners"); and
WHEREAS, said property is more particularly described on a plat and a true and correct
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
WHEREAS, such property is unique as it is only seventy (70) feet wide on Camelia Road
and that is the widest point, as such, said property does not meet Augusta's requirements for a
buildable lot; and
WHEREAS, the Augusta Commission is authorized to sell or convey parcels of small or
narrow strips of land incapable of being used independently to adjoining landowners without the
use ofthe bid process as stated in O.C.G.A. ~ 36-9-3(h); and
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the above recitals, Augusta and adjacent
landowners will enter an agreement, the material terms of which are as follows:
1. Said property shall be sold in accordance with the Official Code of Georgia to the
owners of the adjacent property.
2. The fair market value of said property is $12,500.00, having been determined by a
licensed property appraiser.
3. Augusta will retain an easement across and through said property for ingress and
egress to other property of Augusta, including but not limited to Lake Aumond.
4. Augusta will sell and adjacent landowners will purchase from Augusta said
property for the sum of $12,500.00 cash and each party is to pay its own attorneys fees and
expenses of said sale. The Mayor of Augusta is authorized to sign all documents necessary to
close the sale of said property.

departments, agencies and delegates.
