IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the General Fund - Board of Elections Budget for the year 2002
be amended to reflectincreased expenditures of $66,750 for general primary run-off.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the General Fund Contingency be decreased by $66,750 and
transfer for Board of Elections Department expenditures.

Dear David:
As you are aware, Augusta will be participating in a state-wide General Primary
Run-off on September 10, 2002. In preparing our annual budget, I do not actively budget
for run-off elections, because they are unpredictable. Instead, I prepare a contingency
budget reflecting the costs of these run-offs, should they occur. You will find a copy of
this contingency budget as an attachment to our 2002 Budget.
I am, at this time, requesting that funds in the following amounts be transferred to
the Board of Elections 2002 Budget to cover costs incurred during the conduct of the
aforementioned run-off:
