HomeMy WebLinkAboutBROOKFIELD RESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION WITH THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO BROOKFIELD PARK WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission desires to obtain Local Development Grant Funds in the amount of $20.000 to fund the construction of a new picnic pavilion at Brookfield Park located at 2740 Mayo Road, Augusta Georgia 30907; and WHEREAS, the total cost ofthe project including all matching funds is $40.000; and, WHEREAS, the City of Augusta. Georgia is the owner of and controls the project site. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF AUGUSTA, GEORGIA THAT: 1. Tom F. Beck. Director of Recreation and Parks. is authorized to make (a) an application to the Georgia Department of Community Affair for Local Development Funds, (b) provide additional application and furnish such documents as may be required for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Grants Program and (c) act as the principal contact person and correspondent of the above named municipality; and 2. The City of Augusta. Georgia is committed to this project and will provide the balance of funding necessary to complete the project in the from of local matching funds as required in the policies and procedures for the grant; and 3. The City of Augusta. Georgia shall maintain accounting records in accordance with generally accepted governmental accounting principles and that the funds awarded will be included in those audits of financial statements that cover all or part of the project period; and, 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
