RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION DECLARING INTENT TO CREATE A SINGLE
AVIATION COMMISSION AND REQUESTING
RECOMMENDATIONS FROM GENERAL AVIATION
COMMISSION (DANIEL FIELD) AND CITY AVIATION
COMMISSION (BUSH FIELD) REGARDING SAID SINGLE
AVIATION COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, there currently exist in Augusta-Richmond County
two aviation commissions, known as the General Aviation Commission
(responsible for administration of Daniel Field) and the City
Aviation Commission (responsible for administration of Bush Field) ;
and
WHEREAS, the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-Council
(the "Commission-Council") believes that administration of both
Daniel Field airport and Bush Field airport by a single aviation
commission would be in the best interest of the citizens of
Augusta-Richmond County; and
WHEREAS, the commission-council desires to ~eceive
recommendations from the existing members of the General and city
Aviation Commissions in connection with said establishment of a
single aviation commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved as follows:
1. It is hereby declared to be the intent of the
commission-council to abolish the existing General Aviation
commission (Daniel' Field) and City Aviation Commission (Bush

Field), and to create a single aviation commission responsible for
administration of both Daniel Field and Bush Field airports.
2. The Commission-Council requests that recommendations
as to this matter be made by the existing members of the General
and City Aviation Commissions and provided to the Commission-
Council by September 30, 1996.
This Resolution and applicable subsequent Resolutions
relative to the abolishment of the existing aviation commissions
and the creation of a single aviation commission shall be recorded
on the minutes of the Commission-Council.
Duly adopted by the Augusta-Richmond County Commission-
Council this ~ day of September, 1996.
