1996 Historic Preservation Fund Grant Project Applications
Bethlehem Design Guidelines Manual
Summerville Design Guidelines Manual (Printing)
On March 1, 1996, Augusta-Richmond County submitted separate applications seeking Georgia
DNR grant funds for the two referenced projects. The DNR Grants Coordinator has since
informed me that the attached resolutions must be executed in order for the applications to be
considered complete. I would appreciate it if you would place these resolutions on the next
available Commission-Council meeting agenda. The resolutions merely authorize submission of
the applications.
If funded, the first project will result in a design guidelines manual for the Bethlehem Local
Historic District. A consultant will prepare the design guidelines. The required local match for the
grant is strictly an in-kind donation of time and services by staff of Historic Augusta, Inc. and the
Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission. The application does not commit
Augusta- Richmond County to providing any cash match to the project.
The second project involves the printing of the Summerville Design Guidelines Manual. The
Summerville guidelines were prepared last year. If approved, the Summerville Neighborhood
Association has agreed to provide matching funds of $4,800.00 for the project. As with
Bethlehem, Augusta-Richmond County will not provide any cash match.
