WHJEREAS: The Subdivision Regulations for Augusta, GA require that a 5' drainage
and utility easement be provided on all side lot lines and a 10' drainage and utility easement be
provided on all rear lot lines on property within Augusta, GA that is to be subdivided.
WHJEREAS: The Augusta-Richmond COlmty Planning Commission has been presented on
occasion with plats combining two or more subdivision lots.
WHJEREAS: These plats have been circulated to reviewing agents to ascertain whether or
not the drainage and utility easements are currently being utilized for drainage purposes or utility lines
and whether or not these easements might be needed for such purposes in the future.
WHEREAS: The reviewing agents ascertain that the plat contains drainage and utility
easements that are not currently being utilized for drainage purposes or utility lines and that these
easements ar~ not needed in the future.
WHEREAS: Augusta, GA must approve abandonment of all platted easements.
WlmREAS: The Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission, after circulating the
plat to reviewing agents to ascertain whether or not the utility easements are currently being utilized for
drainage purjposes or utility Jines and whether or not the easements might be needed for such purposes
in the futun;:, should be pennitted to administratively approve said plat if the drainage and utility
easements are not currently being utilized for drainage purposes or utility lines and the easements are
not needed fhr such purposes in the future.
THEREFORE: Let it be known that Augusta, GA does hereby approve authorizing
administrative approval by the Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission of abandonment of
platted drainilge and utility easements for the purpose of combining two or more subdivision lots upon
evidence that the drainage and utility easements are not currently needed for drainage or utility
purposes and: that these easements would not be needed for such p ses in the future.
